Stadium and finances
Fill the ground, balance the books
Money in Manager11 comes from gate receipts and sponsors, and it goes out on wages and building work. The board gives you a transfer budget, but the bank balance is separate and both have to cover a signing. A club that spends everything on one striker can find itself unable to pay its squad.
In the game today
- Ticket pricing that moves the crowd
- A fan base that grows with winning
- Stadium expansion in stages
- Sponsors and matchday income
- Wages and the bank balance
- Club facilities
Tickets and the crowd
You set the ticket price. Price it too high and fewer fans come, price it low and you fill the ground but earn less from each seat. Winning grows your fan base over time, so a successful club can charge more and still sell out.
Building the stadium
When the crowd outgrows the ground, expand it. Building work takes a number of gamedays to finish and costs money up front, so time it for when the bank can carry it. A bigger stadium means more matchday income for every home game after it opens.
Wages and the board
Wages are paid out as the season goes on. The board sets the transfer budget and expects results that fit the club's size. Overspend or underperform for too long and the board can lose patience.
Questions and answers
- Where does a club's money come from?
- Gate receipts from home matches, sponsors and player sales. Wages and building work are the main costs.
- Can I be sacked?
- Yes. If results fall well short of what the board expects for too long, it can lose confidence in you.
- Do credits buy money or players?
- No. Optional credits buy extras such as a rename or an AI designed badge, never cash, players or results.
